Don’t mess with me!

Yes, I suppose it WAS a good thing I caved and took Myles to the doctor. I was kind of inpressed, first off the office is huge, beautiful and CLEAN. And the doctor was great as well. Myles was really fighting everyone though, he does NOT like being poked and prodded one bit.
The doc prescribed an antibiotic for him, he said this time of year he only prescribes it when he feels its necessary. and Myles did have a ton of chest congestion–which kept him up all night.
Anywho, the ladies at CVS gave me a scare. This is the first time that I have ever used my Aetna PPO, and they were trying to tell me that I need a prescription card, Im like WTF? I have a card for medical and a card for dental. Needless to say, they ran it anyway and guess the funk what? It worked. Yeah, please don’t do that again, thanks!
So apparently Myles is a professional sucker-eater. Yeah, the candy! I had no idea he knew how to eat one and they gave him one at the pharmacy. Either he already knew how or its a natural thing for kids to know how to do. Haha. he kept saying “Nummy! Nummy!” Good to see him in a good mood though.

…I would be taking calls at work, helping people with their cable and telephone issues. But today, Myles is sick (still!). I’ve been playing it off, because every time i take him to the doctor, they say, “Meh, its just a cold! he’ll be better in 1-2 weeks.” And thats pretty much what I expect to hear today. His cough was just really bad, he’s grumpy and he didnt sleep well last night (which means we don’t sleep well). So I guess its for piece of mind, more than anything. Its nothing out of the ordinary, a runny nose, congestion in his nose and chest, and a pretty bad cough, slightly restricted breathing. He’s a little warm too. I was even going to try and play it off, take him to the sitters and go to work this am. I made it over 1/2 way there and turned around. Myles was having a coughing fit, in his sleep and covered in snot. Not something you want to share with other people’s kids!
Oh and to top it all off, our heater is not working right now. We woke up this am and it was 65 degrees. Im still freezing and I’m sitting in the warmest room in the house.
So anyway, we are off to the doctor’s @ 2pm. and of course, Myles just barely went down for a nap. Poor guy. His appetite has been pretty crappy as well. Its bad enough when he is feeling GOOD and he doesn’t eat well. And its not like i expect him to have much of an appetite if he’s sick but…i worry!
NEVER have I worried this much in my life, until I had this child. ![]()

A crazy week for Phoenix & Scottsdale: FBR Open/Superbowl XL
Yeah, and you can definitely feel it in the air. The airport is getting packed and there are some pretty crazy parties going on. Here is an excerpt from the East Valley Tribune about all the hoopla:
“The Super Bowl this year is this explosion of events and parties. That’s different from 1996,” Phillips said. “The Internet was brand new. Now, it’s kind of been this integration of news and entertainment.”
Indeed, besides setting up broadcast booths in Scottsdale, some sports news outlets will be holding their own celebrations. Rapper Ludacris - who will entertain with Jenny McCarthy on Thursday at Fox Sports’ Best Damn Super Bowl Party Period - will also headline ESPN The Magazine’s Next event on Friday.
The ESPN event - which will highlight future trends in sports, technology and lifestyle - also has rapper Soulja Boy Tell’em holding a dance challenge featuring athletes.
Maxim magazine will stage its invitation-only soiree Friday inside the new Stone Rose Lounge at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess resort. Athletes and celebrities will be greeted by media on an 80-foot red carpet.
There will also be a makeshift dance floor on a swimming pool surrounded by 12 VIP cabanas. Heidi Montag (”The Hills”), the current cover model, is among the expected guests. DJ AM and DJ Vice will entertain, along with 40 Maxim models and dancers. Like last year’s party, when Fergie made a surprise performance, there will be a hush-hush musical guest.
For Maxim, the Super Bowl has been an ideal way to reaffirm its brand recognition with its target audience of males age 18 to 34.
“The party is a way to bring the magazine to life,” said James Kaminsky, Maxim’s editorial director. “I think there’s a great strength in the fact that we’re doing it on a Friday night. We sort of own the night. We set the agenda for those who are there to party.”
Playboy will take over the Rawhide Pavilion at Wild Horse Pass in Chandler on Saturday. The event will include 26 Playmates clad in traditional bunny costumes. Actor Nick Cannon will be a guest DJ. The Playboy party will somehow incorporate elements of the Arizona locale in its theme, said Donna Tavoso, vice president of Playboy’s special projects.
But more importantly, guests should walk away feeling like VIPs, Tavoso added.
“Playboy represents the good life and living the good life. The mission of the party is to bring that to life for people,” Tavoso said.
Penthouse magazine will have its Penthouse Desire SuperParty on Saturday at the Venue of Scottsdale. Snoop Dogg will be the headliner. Penthouse Pets will mingle with guests.
Other A-list highlights include a live performance from music mogul Sean “Puffy” Combs outside the Axis/Radius nightclub on Thursday. While the block party rocks the outdoors, the VIP Super Skins Celebrity Golf Classic Bash will be going on indoors with hosts Nick Lachey and Jimmie Johnson. The list of expected guests includes Justin Timberlake, Peyton Manning, Matt Leinart, Tony Romo, Terrell Owens and Carmen Electra.
Electra will co-host the Leather & Laces party with actresses Roselyn Sanchez and Catherine Bell at the Galleria Centre in Scottsdale. Sugar Ray with frontman Mark McGrath will perform.
The Galleria will also be the backdrop Saturday for the Saturday Night Spectacular, hosted by John Travolta and former NFL great Marshall Faulk.
The 944 Super Village, which will take over the Scottsdale Waterfront for Super Bowl week, will have festivities practically day and night including food vendors, a mini Las Vegas strip and music. The evening entertainment throughout the week includes Wyclef Jean, Velvet Revolver and Paris Hilton.
We may have some free tickets to one of these very expensive parties, that would be cool!!! I have been soooo not going out lately, of no fault but my own of course. But yeah for some reason I’m tempted to join the festivities. Now there’s somewhere I could wear my new shoes!

So I am finally beta testing the On Demand service at my house, and it is truly awesome! There is definatley some good free content on there, and if you already subscribe to HBO or ShowTime (et. al.), then you get access to their On Demand channels included for free. This includes both current movies and also series episodes too, like Weeds and Dexter. And this early on in the game, there are very minimal bugs in the software as well! I do wish it was a bit more…oh, whats the word–MANUVERABLE! Its like menu after menu after menu after submenu blah blah. I feel it could have been a bit simpler. The good thing though there will be TONS of content and it will be changing weekly!
So basically if you have a digital settop box of any model, you will be able to recieve access to On Demand without any special equipment or fees. Yes, you gotta pay for new releases and porn! But you will have access to the movie for 24 hours and be able to ffw/rew/pause/stop. Its pretty much like renting a dvd without having to pick it up/return it. There is a decent search function and menu to find the movies that are up your alley.
Since we have been upgrading our network valley-wide (and will continue to do so), VOD service should be available in a few areas within the next few months. I lucked out and reside in the first network to be fully upgraded and operational! So NE. Scottsdale, congratulations! VOD should be released w/i the next week for you. They are hoping to have it nearly valley-wide by mid-summer.

Finally, I got some reasonably priced replacement(s!) for the pair that techno chewed up:

I can’t believe I went through most of the holidays with no dress shoes. But it was worth the wait, I paid $25 total for both pairs! These pups are staying on the tippy top shelf of our closet.
And now…I just need some motivation to wear them!
