Wife 1.0

Dear Systems Analyst,
I am desperate for some help! I recently upgraded my
program from Girlfriend 7.0 to Wife 1.0 and found that the
new program began Unexpected child processing and also took
up a lot of space and valuable resources. This wasn’t
mentioned in the product brochure. In addition Wife 1.0
installs itself into all other programs and launches itself
during Systems initialization, where it monitors all other
system activities. Applications such as “Boys’
Night Out 2.5 ” and “Clubbing 5.3″ no longer
run, and crash the system whenever selected. Attempting to
operate selected “Sunday Football 6.3″ always
fails and “Sunday Shopping 7.1″ runs instead. I
cannot seem to keep “Wife 1.0″ in the background
whilst attempting to run any of my favorite applications.
I am thinking of going back to “Girlfriend 7.0″,
but un-installing doesn’t work on this program.
Can you please help?
AND THIS IS WHAT THE ANALYST SAID:
Dear Customer,
This is a very common problem resulting from a basic
misunderstanding. Many customers upgrade from Girlfriend 7.0
to Wife 1.0 thinking that Wife 1.0 is merely a UTILITIES AND
ENTERTAINMENT PROGRAM. Actually, Wife 1.0 is an OPERATING
SYSTEM DESIGNED BY IT’S CREATOR TO RUN EVERY PROGRAM
WITHIN IT’S DOMAIN. You are unlikely to be able to
purge Wife 1.0 and still Convert back to Girlfriend 7.0, as
Wife 1.0 was not designed to do this and it is impossible to
uninstall, delete or purge the program files from the system
once it is installed.
Some people have tried to install Girlfriend 8.0 or Wife
2.0 but have ended up with even more problems. (See manual
under Alimony/Child Support and Solicitors’ Fees).
Having “Wife 1.0″ installed myself, I recommend
you keep it installed and deal with the difficulties as best
as you can. When any faults or problems occur, whatever you
think has caused them, You must run the
C:\APOLOGIZE\FORGIVE\ME program and avoid
attempting to use the *Esc-Key. It may be necessary to run
C:\APOLOGIZE\FORGIVE\ME a number of times, and
eventually hope that the operating system will return to
normal. Wife 1.0, although a very high maintenance
program, can be very rewarding. To get the most out of it,
consider buying additional software such as “Flowers
2.0″ and “Chocolates 5.0″ or
“HUGS\KISSES 600.0″ or “SEX 500.0″ or
“TENDERNESS\UNDERSTANDING 1000.0″, or even
“C:\EATINGOUT\WITHOUT.THE.KIDS 7.2″ (if
child processing has already started).
DO NOT under any circumstances install “Secretary 2.1
Short Skirt Version” (any version), as this is not a
supported application for Wife 1.0 and the system will
almost certainly crash.
BEST OF LUCK!
Your Systems Analyst

Boy with Cancer Ordered by Judge to Undergo Chemotherapy

I just read a really interesting article today, so interesting in fact that I am listening to my favorite talk show hosts cover it right now on 92.3 FM KTAR (Mac and Gaydos!)…
Basically, a 13 yr old boy has been deemed by his doctors terminally ill with cancer, and it is likely he will die if he doesnt have it and not die if he does. Well most people would probably go ahead and do it, right? That would be my first instinct as a parent but I follow no faith that forbids me from medical procedures that could harm the body. His parents however, do.
Here is a link to the story…(click)
This is really hard for me, I cannot BELIEVE that anyone would pick their religion over their child living or dying. The story says they want to get an “alternative treatment” instead after recieving one chemotherapy treatment. But I don’t like the idea of the government telling us how to treat our kids. This is a life or death situation, but gosh in reality it could go further than this.
And this folks, is an example of why I hate politics and parties, and choosing whether i am conservative, liberal, etc. I can always see both sides and HATE making decisions. For me, I would do what has proven to work for many, many people. Hope the poor child heals 100%!
Obama not getting Honorary Degree from ASU (Daily Show Video)

My sister is graduating from Arizona State University this week, and it’s a big deal all over town that President Barack Obama is speaking at their commencement tonight. I had the opportunity to go, but passed it up last minute. Would have had to arrange a sitter and sit in the stadium for 4 hours in 100 degree heat, mind you! On top of traffic and security, it just wasn’t sounding like the most fun thing to do today. Would have liked the experience if it was a little easier to obtain…
It is also big news that ASU is not giving President Obama an honorary degree. I thought this sounded pretty ungrateful, myself! Their excuse was that Obama hasn’t been in office long enough to prove himself and earn one. Really? The first black american predisent, the freshest face of ideas since John F Kennedy? Wow, what a burn.
Well my MOST favorite talk show host, Jon Stewart, did a great piece last night on the Daily Show about who HAS gotten an honorary degree from this “prestigious” (LOL) college…(and the student interviews are hilarious, you know how they do!):

“I like nonsense, it wakes up the brain cells. Fantasy is a necessary ingredient in living, It’s a way of looking at life through the wrong end of a telescope. Which is what I do, And that enables you to laugh at life’s realities.” - Dr. Seuss
I have always loved Dr. Seuss and his children’s books. I remember being read them as a child, and reading them to my sister, and now I read them to my toddler son as well. When I read this quote today, I just had to share. He really was a smart and insightful man.

So, since it is very likely I’m gonna spend 7 hours in a middle seat on an airplane by myself comming up here soon…i’ve been thinking about learning how to knit b4 Hawaii. I actually got a book on a whim at Mustang Library last week called Stitch & Bitch: The Knitter’s handbook. Its so modern I love it!!! I think I’m gonna work on a scarf on the flight, i may even be able to do two projects. I’d love to do a media cozy or a hat or purse. I am going to buy supplies tomorrow, soon i hope to be making items like these:

AND if i get really good at it, maybe i can knit a Chinese Charm Purse (square with bamboo circle handles) with THIS pattern:
…i would also like to do little projects, cell phone cozys are a great thing i could do for my amigos, seriously i’m sure i can do 5 or 6 between the flights! LOL.

Well the Hawaii trip is actually a go. I was saying recently with the house situation and leaving Myles and the dogs for so long, that we couldn’t swing it. But our tickets are bought, luxury condo by the beach is reserved and so is the car. I am just super stoked!! I cannot wait to experience the lush sandy white beaches, pristine blue water, and relaxed atmosphere. All because my husband RULES at his job.
We are staying on Hawaii’s Big island, I’m not sure exactly where yet. But we have a 30 day countdown! All I want to do is see wildlife and volcanoes and eat and relax on the beach. WITH a cocktail. It will be a romantic vacation, and I’m terribly excited. Here are some pics of the local beaches and sights on our island:
I am already looking up where we can see lava, sea turtles, and the best pizza on the big island too. Thank goodness for the internets, how ever did people plan vacations before?

SO Steve got an email at work the other week about this adorable girl. We had been talking about getting another dog, a friend for Techno and she was FREE to a good home and we won the bid! As in, her foster family picked us out of 8 people who were interested. I instantly loved her mentality–as Steve would say, she’s “calm as a hindu cow.” Definately my mentality.

Needless to say, I claimed her as my doggie that very night we came home. And thank goodness we have a friend for Techno now. Speaking of, he is still crazy as ever. We bought this device called a Spray Commander for him. Since we have been through training books and classes, a shock collar, and a choke collar–none which really worked–except for the training did help some. When Techno is worked up though there is just no getting through to this dog. Anyway, the Spray Commander is a collar they wear and it has a remote. When u press a button on it, it squirts a bit of citronella scented water in the air. Its supposed to distract and deter the dog from whatever negative behavior they may be engaging in. Well it worked for all of two days, and Techno is becomming pretty immune to it. Also, each fill of the collar only has 25 sprays, and we are easily filling it once a day. Needless to say, we have 30 days to return it for any reason (thank you PetsMart!) and I just might be doing so, seeing it put us out $100!
Anyway, here is the last pic of our poodle-doodles, who will always behave as long as there is TREATS involved!

And I broke down and got us a new bedspread, sheets and memory foam pillows. The old blanket that I used to sleep with in my dorm room was beyond retirement age, and our stacks of pathetically flattened pillows were becoming cumbersome:

A seciton of my ceiling in the corner of the kitchen, which I predict is the beginning of what my friend Jen is currently experiencing in her home . In fact, she cant even stay there right now until the damage is repaired. I can see the same bubbling in the walls, damp spots and also above the kitchen sink there is recent damage too. I predict a complete and utter mess during or around Monsoon season, if not sooner:
